Quadrangle NL Receives Significant Funding for Violence Prevention

The Honourable Pam Parsons, Minister Responsible for Women and Gender Equality, today announced $890,000 in funding for Quadrangle NL, provided through the National Action Plan to End Gender-based Violence.
Based in St. John’s, Quadrangle NL is a community of individuals working together to improve the health and wellbeing of 2SLGBTQQIA+ people throughout the province.
Funding for the organization will be spread out over the next four years, and will be used to enhance violence prevention efforts, including education and awareness initiatives. Funding will also be used to increase capacity and provincial outreach and service delivery, in partnership with community stakeholders, such as women’s centres, violence prevention organizations, Friendship Centres, and newcomer organizations, to address gender-based violence.
The Federal Department of Women and Gender Equality and Youth, through the National Action Plan to End Gender-based Violence is providing nearly $13.6 million over the next four years to support violence prevention initiatives throughout Newfoundland and Labrador. The funds will be distributed through the Provincial Office of Women and Gender Equality to various groups and organizations.
